Our top Frisco rental home tips:
Getting the most from your budget:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Frisco. To find the best value, try shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Hatteras area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain coupons for local shops and restaurants.
Filter your search:
- Select vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Waterfront House w\/Shared Pool, Water View, Private Washer\/Dryer, Free WiFi has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before booking the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a certain Hatteras attraction you crave, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
Advice for a great stay:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
