A walkway extends around the left side of the home for direct access to the private pool and hot tub area. There is a picnic area and a swim-up tropical bar with seats in the pool. From the pool area, a private elevated boardwalk extends through the marshland towards the sound to a dock on the canal. Our top Rental home booking tips and tricks:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer months are high season in the Hatteras area. Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Hatteras area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hatteras visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Select a group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Waterfront home with ocean views, private pool & hot tub has 7 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hatteras rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
