Adore the water? Then make this handsome Island Creek Resort beach home your home-away-from-home. Located in a semi-private waterfront resort designed for active beach life, this waterfront home is the ideal place to spend a long and calming hideaway with someone you appreciate. Inside, the home enjoys two levels of comfort and convenience, with tons of natural light cascading in through broad, ocean-facing windows, comfortable furnishings, and plenty of space for everybody to move around. The main level features an open concept that encompasses the living, dining, and kitchen areas, so you can keep up with conversation, no matter what you're up to. The full kitchen includes all the appliances and counter space the family chef could ask for, and the dining table has seating for six dinner guests. You'll adore taking your afternoon meals outside on the wrap-around deck, and you can wrap up an evening soaking in the lower-level's private hot tub. Spend the day on a hot-weather hike then cool off with a swim in the shared pool before coming back to spread out in the living room to watch a good movie or show on the living room's mounted flatscreen TV.

Set on Avon's pristine north end and accessible only by bridge, Island Creek Resort offers over 1,000 feet of shallow sound-front access. Windsurfers, kite surfers, kayakers, and kids will appreciate this ultra-friendly location where miles of open Pamlico Sound facilitate launching, fishing, exploring, relaxing, or just horsing around in the water.

The boat ramp and docks handle modest boats and personal watercraft. Acres of manicured sod keep Island Creek Resort looking and feeling good underfoot. Grab the Coppertone and head across the street to Avon's super beachfront. Spring and fall guests sing ICR's praises for board sports, while families regale in this secret spot for summer getaways. Seasoned travelers even head to ICR for their winter holidays. For parents introducing their families to the world of watersports and experts looking to ideal their kiting, windsurfing, and kayaking techniques, this is really a resort for all seasons. Island Creek Resort, Avon. It's always better on the island.
The boat slips are not for overnight use, they are only for loading and unloading.

Our top Avon rental booking tips:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Summer is high season in Avon. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Hatteras visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by having your group commit to date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Waterfront dog-friendly home on the Sound with private hot tub, pool & AC has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hatteras vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before booking your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.

More considerations:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
