How to find the best Rodanthe vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hatteras area travel guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hatteras visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, picking, and booking your Hatteras vacation home:
- Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Top-floor, oceanfront condo with stunning balcony views, pool, deck, central AC has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you book your rental. - Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your contract.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
Advice for your stay:

- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas during arrival. text the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to stimulate future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
