Finding the best Rodanthe vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Hatteras area. To get the best rental home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Hatteras restaurants and activities.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hatteras area visitor guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hatteras visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
