You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
• In the Hatteras area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
• Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
• Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance.
