SOUNDFRONT Rodanthe — NC 12 Hwy — New for 2024! — Just before the sun disappears below the horizon, there’s a warm glow as soft golden hues paint the sky. Some say this phenomenon creates an intimate and magical mood. Perched on the edge of the sound, the freshly constructed GOLDEN HOUR ON THE SOUND does indeed color your memories with the emotional warmth of the moment.
Those who savor fishing will adore how close this four-bedroom/four- and one-half-bath home is to the Rodanthe Pier or how painless it is to cast a line right from the property’s bulkhead. After your aquatic adventures, clean up with the convenience of two outdoor showers and a screened-in fish cleaning station with water and lights to prep your catch for dinner later. Fire up the charcoal grille while the kids work up an appetite playing on the broad soundfront lawn.
A set of stairs or the all-floor elevator takes you to the second level where you’ll discover all four of the master bedrooms — a king, two queens and a triple full bunk — all featuring ensuite baths and Intelligent TVs. There’s also a game room featuring a foosball table and two arcade games to inspire a little familial competition. Deck chairs and a 7-person hot tub, perched ideally on the sound-facing deck, offers the ideal setting to catch the sunset and the ensuing kaleidoscope of colors.
The third and top level features an open layout where everybody can come together in roomy comfort. A sizable couch and comfortable chairs invite complimentary-flowing conversation, Intelligent TV watching, and sound vistas. Gleaming stainless-steel appliances, loads of cabinets and an eat-at counter with four stools highlight a kitchen that is both pretty and purposeful. Eat here, on the deck at the whimsical “surfboard” picnic table, or at the eight-seat dining table that inspires long, leisurely meals that extend well into the evening. Make your next vacation one you’ll really treasure by booking GOLDEN HOUR ON THE SOUND.

Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation property experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- Summer is high season in Rodanthe. To book the largest rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Hatteras visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning and picking a perfect Hatteras rental:
- Begin by choosing trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Soundfront Home w\/ Hot Tub, Elevator, Game Room, + Convenient Windsports Access has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
