SEMI-OCEANFRONT Avon – Ocean View Drive – Kinnakeet Shores – A calming and fun vacation is the name of the game at CHECKMATE, a six-bedroom/five- and one-half bath home. Strategically placed in the heart of Avon, you have simple access to all the village has to offer.

Spend time at the private pool, an broad hang out complete with lounge chairs and outdoor shower. Head across the street to the close by beach access and spend a day on the sand, or step inside to the game room with a full-size refrigerator, pool table, and Intelligent TV. There is a bedroom featuring two sets of bunk beds with access to the semi-private full bath with hallway access.

Up one level, choose from four of the home’s six bedrooms. Two masters, a king and a queen, and a queen bedroom all feature a Intelligent TV and access to the ocean facing deck, complete with a 6-person hot tub and a place to sit in the shade. The queen bedroom and the fourth bedroom that features two single beds, share a hallway bathroom.

Upstairs you will find the final bedroom, a master king suite, offering awesome ocean vistas and a Intelligent TV, ideal to wind down in the evening. Plan to spend your evenings in the great room appreciating the striking view, streaming the group's favorite on the Intelligent TV or stereo. The kitchen is well-equipped for the family chef, and everybody can savor meals in the dining area, or alfresco either on the covered porch or top-level deck with blue-hued vistas and impressive sunsets. Your vacation strategy is simple because everybody wins when you make your move to CHECKMATE.

When to visit & When to reserve a Hatteras rental home:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the Hatteras area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast?
