When you first pull into the driveway, you're unsure whether to run to the beach, steps away, or discover all three and a half floors of the home. The main floor is comfortable with a huge HDTV above the fireplace, ocean vistas while seated or on the decks, a BBQ grille, a screened porch, and a kitchen, which accepts the chefs to remain part of the great room conversations. Spiral stairs lead to a loft where kids can call their own, or adults can escape for some secluded time.
The washer/dryer is conveniently located on the middle level. The lower level has a enormous game room with a pool table and a wet bar. Exit the slider to the private pool area with a hot tub, where you may spend most of your time during the week. What could be better than a sizable, well-appointed home close to the beach and private pool?

How to book the best Hatteras vacation home experience:
Get the best value:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Hatteras area. To find the best vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Hatteras restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hatteras area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hatteras visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Dog-friendly home with ocean views, private pool, hot tub, & fireplace has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Know before you go:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Upon arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
