OCEANVIEW Rodanthe- Atlantic Dr. (Formerly Water's Lure) If a vacation soaked in ocean and sound vistas sounds tempting, look no further than PROMISE KEPT. Located just 3 tons away from the Rodanthe Pier, painless access to the beach on a state maintained paved road - there's a lot to adore about this rental home besides the gorgeous water vistas. The water's lure may just lead you into the shining private pool or indulgent hot tub, or you can step inside and be enticed by a game of pool in the first level game room with pool table, TV/DVD, and wet bar with full size refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. Also on this level is a king master bedroom with TV/DVD and a bedroom with 2 sets of bunk beds, TV/DVD and semi-private bath. Upstairs, you can give into temptation and spend a lazy morning in bed in one of three inviting king master bedrooms, all with TVs/DVDs and all with private baths. On the top level, you can indulge in those beautiful vistas, or allow yourself to be distracted by the great room with ample kitchen and dining area, and living area with TV/DVD. There's also a convenient half bath powder room and a cavernous king master bedroom with TV/DVD. Spend a little time at PROMISE KEPT and you'll understand the attraction. (Fireplace seen in photos is not available for guest use.)

Vacation Rental Protection Plan: This required non-returnable $95 plan covers accidental damage within the home with a coverage limit of $3,000. It does not cover theft or willful misconduct. You must notify Surf or Sound Realty of any damage that occurs during your occupancy or this coverage will be void. Coverage is effective at time of check-in and ends at time of check-out.

Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Hatteras area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Ocean View - Dog Friendly, Pool, Hot Tub, Elevator, Game Room has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If not, contact the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a particular Hatteras destination you love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.

  • Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
