Located on the top floor corner of this modern condominium complex, the three-bedroom/two-bath has everything you need to enhance your Hatteras experience in comfortable and roomy surroundings.

Wake up each morning in one of the condo’s three bedrooms — two queens with a jack-and-jill bathroom and a pyramid bunk room with access to a hallway bath — to plot out your day’s adventures. Brew a cup of coffee in the generously equipped kitchen and venture out onto the furnished balcony where the vistas from Hatteras Inlet to the point in Buxton just might provide some inspiration. All of the bedrooms feature TVs, as does the living area, which also offers a full view of the ocean. There’s an eat-at counter and an oceanview dining table with seating for up to eight for those family meals that somehow taste that much better when you are on vacation. A stacked washer and dryer is conveniently located in this unit.

Plus, appreciate the many amenities and community features the Durant Station condominium complex offers including a community clubhouse featuring a gathering space with a full kitchen, electric fireplace, pool table, and a TV. Make new acquaintances at the community BBQ area, while prepping your fresh catch at the fish cleaning station or at the enormous, private oceanfront pool and hot tub where there are plenty of chairs to relax with a good book. About the Area

Located in Hatteras, this condo is on the beach. Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum and Frisco Native American Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's attractions include Frisco Mini Golf and Go Karts and Buxton Seafood. Uncle Eddy's Frozen Custard and 18-Hole Mini Golf and Ocracoke Pony Pens are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer months are high season in the Hatteras area. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies supply Hatteras area travel guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hatteras area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
