Walk up the steps to a giant great room with home theater system with 52" LCD/HDTV with DVD player and surround sound, vaulted ceilings, skylights and unlimited vistas of the ocean. A huge kitchen and dining room make this the ideal place for family and friends to stretch out. From the great room you can step outside to the furnished upper deck, relax in the hot tub, or check out the action in the pool down below. - Summertime is high season in the Hatteras area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. - Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your family.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
