Vacation Rental Protection Plan: This required non-returnable $95 plan covers accidental damage within the home with a coverage limit of $3,000. It does not cover theft or willful misconduct.   • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Hatteras area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
