Whether you adore to fish, swim, surf, kayak, kiteboard, windsurf, birdwatch, or lounge on the beach, Frog Hollow lets you do it all!
This delightful, soundside, 1,500-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom home is located in the peaceful Askin’s Creek subdivision on the south side of Avon. It's just a short walk to the beach or a short drive to the grocery store, eateries, and four-wheel drive beach access (a permit is required). You'll also be 10 mins. from the pool and Canadian Hole. Bring bicycles and running shoes because Avon has been blessed with a village-long bicycle path!
Boasting new upgrades for 2023, including new beds, additional pillows, outdoor dining table and chairs, and a remote work area with desk and chairs, Frog Hollow has cornered the market on cool, comfort, and vistas. The home showcases five deck areas - two off the front of the home and three off the back of the home. The front decks afford vistas of Askin’s Creek and Pamlico Sound sunsets. The three-tiered back deck accepts you to climb three stories through junipers emerging to ocean, the sound, and vistas of national park land. We might be a little biased, but we think Frog Hollow has some of the best vistas in the area.
Inside, you'll find three bedrooms and two full bathrooms on the first floor. Each bedroom includes a 40-inch 4K TV, a recharging station for your electronics, and a queen-size bed. The second bedroom includes twin bunk beds in addition to the queen bed. The first bedroom has an en suite bath, while there is a hall bath for other guests. The first and second bedrooms have sliding doors that access the back deck. The first floor also includes laundry facilities.
Upstairs, you'll find a enormous open living space featuring a dining area, a living room, a well-appointed kitchen, and a half-bath. There's also a 12-foot sliding door to access the back deck and another sliding door opposite to access the upper front deck. Choose a deck to watch a fantastic sunrise over the Atlantic or a enchanting sunset over Pamlico Sound; linger awhile to listen to the frogs chirp. Watch the deer feed along the wood line, or appreciate a spectacular view of the Milky Way. If you time it right, you may even see the space station pass overhead.
The carport beneath the home features a fish-cleaning table, an outdoor shower, storage, and room for two cars with additional parking on the concrete driveway. This home also features a fenced-in dog run - up to two dogs are welcome for a nightly fee!
You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking, which will be sent to your e-mail. You will not be able to check in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.
Guests also have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in e-mail and during the check-in process. The club is typically open mid-May to mid-October, depending on weather.

Tips to get the best Hatteras rental home experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Reserve your rental property in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hatteras area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your search:
- Start by selecting the best vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Dog-friendly home with water view, five decks, central AC & pool access has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
Considerations for your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- During check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
