OCEANVIEW Rodanthe- America Dr. It's five o'clock somewhere which means it's never too early to start your vacation off right at DAY DRINKIN' with a dip in the invigorating private pool, or a soak in the calming hot tub. On the entry-level you'll find a washer and dryer and convenient half bath, conveniently accessible by the pool and fast visits from the beach. Load up the all-level elevator with your suitcases and groceries and head to the first level game room with pool table, wet bar with full-size refrigerator and microwave and another half bath. Indulge in a movie with the family in the first-class theater room featuring real theater seats and huge screen home theater system with DVD. Nearby is a king master bedroom with private bath and a additional room with set of bunk beds. Stroll up to the second floor and you'll find four more master bedrooms: three king masters, and a master with a pyramid bunk with trundle. When to visit & When to book:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Hatteras area. To book the best rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

  • Choose your vacation week and budget.

  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
  • If there's an individual Hatteras destination you long to visit, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.

  • Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
