Getaways #478 is a home on the sound side in Waves. Slip away into a peaceful Island getaway that includes your own private pool, hot tub, multiple minibars, and a screened porch. You and your whole crew will be all set for the hideaway week of your dreams.

Calling all grille masters, this home offers you one of the best cookout vistas on the top floor and all grilled cuisines can be served up fresh just steps away to an outdoor dining table. Need more room? This top floor has one of the biggest kitchen tables, providing a handsome setup for family-style meals. The accommodations don't stop there! With numerous comfortable furnishings, bar seating, a reading corner with entirely supplied bookshelves, and a separate bar lounge this top floor guarantees space for everybody to stretch out and relax.

The roomy kitchen features an open floor plan, stainless steel appliances, and countertop space that extends around the perimeter (with the only exception being the entryway). There is also elevator access on this level that services all three floors of this home. In addition, the king-sized main bedroom on this level is attractively decorated in a variety of coastal blues. The best way to sleep in style on an Island.

The mid-level homes many of the bedrooms. All bedrooms have their own private bathrooms. Guests can choose from a variety of sleeping arrangements including one with two bunk beds, one with one bunk, a queen with an additional bunk set, and a king-sized bedroom. On the first level, is the main recreation room. This floor features an additional refrigerator and microwave, ideal so that guests won't have to go all the way to the top floor to grab drinks and snacks before darting back outside. Indoors is also a pool table and air hockey table for more competitive visitors. Outside, soak up the sun by the pool during the day, the starlight in the hot tub at nighttime, and a spectacular view of the sunsets over the sound each evening. Located in Salvo, this vacation home is by the sea. Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station Historic Site and Museum and Studio 12 are cultural highlights, and some of the area's attractions include Rodanthe Pier and Ocean Air Sports. Hatteras Island Boardsports and Avon Fishing Pier are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

When to visit & When to book:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Hatteras area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses.
