Kinnakeet Shores Pool and Tennis less than 2 miles south is supplied with the rental. (Mid May through end of September) Can be used before and after check-in.

There is also a pull-out twin couch in the den and a queen inflatable bed.

HEPA covers on all pillows and beds.

You can walk across HWY 12 to the beach. It is only 3 blocks away. You can walk to eateries, bar, and ice cream shop. Avon has a Food Lion, Dollar Tree, Wings, and Ace Hardware just 2 miles away. And plenty of other beach stores and eateries are also available.

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in Avon. To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Hatteras restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses.   • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • At Check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it.
