Great home located in the village of Avon, along the Outer Banks Scenic Byway. Avon is just south of one of the longest stretches of unspoiled National Seashore on the Outer Banks. We continue to make updates and improvements both inside and out. Our comfortable, clean home in family friendly Kinnakeet Shores is ready for your beach hideaway!
Sea's Calling is just a fast, simple walk to the beach, and close to community amenities, shopping, and dining. We're just a short drive from the "Canadian Hole," an epic kite boarding and windsurfing spot. The famed Cape Hatteras lighthouse is mins. away. Renting from Saturday to Saturday weekly during June, July and August, and with a four nighttime minimum during other months. Sea's Calling features dual zone AC and heat for your comfort. With beds for eight, three decks, tons of outdoor seating and two picnic tables for outdoor dining, our home is ideal for a calming family vacation.
Savor your morning coffee on the upper deck overlooking a view of Kinnakeet Shores and Hatteras Island. Spend your day at the huge private community pool, playing tennis or pickle ball, surf fishing, or just "beaching it." Stroll for miles along uncrowded Atlantic Ocean beaches, collecting seashells and observing nature. Sit on the rear deck at sunset and savor the handsome colors in the western sky. An outdoor hot water shower will provide a exhilarating way to wash off the sand and salt as you end your day outdoors. In the evening, sit on the upper deck and be amazed by the stars above.
When you arrive at Sea's Calling you will enter the lower level which contains a washer and dryer for your laundry needs. The second level has two tiled baths and three charmingly decorated bedrooms. Fresh linens are supplied for all beds and a basic bath towel set is supplied for each guest. In the first bedroom you will find a double bed and two bunk beds. The second bedroom has a queen bed with a memory foam bed and ceiling fan. The third bedroom, the master, has a king bed with memory foam bed, an ensuite bathroom, a ceiling fan, and its own doorway to the lower deck. Here you can appreciate a shaded area and the porch swing to read, relax, or grab some peaceful time. Each bedroom has a flat screen TV and DVD player with DirecTV satellite access.
The top level features an open concept with a entirely equipped kitchen and a roomy deck. Off the kitchen is a enormous vaulted great room with living and dining space and a half bath. In addition to the breakfast bar seating for 3, a pub-height dining table seats 6 people. The living room features a 49 inch TV and Blu-Ray player for your entertainment. TV service includes 140 TV and music channels. In addition, there are movies, puzzles, cards, books, and family games for you to enjoy. Outdoors, there is a horseshoe pit, fish cleaning station, and a patio with grille, seating, and a picnic table. We offer complimentary WiFi throughout the home.
For the kiddos, we have a Pack N Play, attachable booster seat with tray, highchair, and umbrella stroller. There is a safety gate at the upper deck steps and collapsible ones for indoor use. There is a deck box with beach toys, beach chairs, and a beach cart. You'll find a cooler and tennis equipment for your use. And if you visit during cooler months, our electric fireplace will provide comfort and ambiance.
Last but definitely not least, relax in our private hot tub, located for all-weather use, and refresh yourself from the day’s activities. Whatever the time of day you will appreciate it! And our service company will clean upon your departure!

Our top Rental home tips and tricks:
Find your best deal:
- Summer time is high season in the Hatteras area. To book the best rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Hatteras restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hatteras area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by choosing trip dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Sea's Calling - Soundside Home in Kinnakeet Shores - Walk to Beach and Pool has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before booking the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, note any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
