The Lighthouse is part of the Watermen's Retreat Resort and managed by property management company Flying R - Watermen's Retreat.
The Lighthouse features teak floors, tile bathrooms, carpeted bedrooms and a full modern award-winning kitchen with an s-bend granite drink bar.
The living room features leather furnishings, a flat screen TV, cable and Apple TV. Space to entertain includes a dining room table with seating for 6 and bar seating for 4. The primary bedroom has a private full bathroom, walk-in tile shower and walk-in closet. The second bedroom features a king bed while the third has a queen bed. Each bedroom has a flat screen TV with cable. The shared full bath has a bathtub shower combo. The living area and primary bedroom provide access to the east facing deck with water vistas. The bedrooms provide access to a water view balcony.
The Lighthouse does not have the direct waterfront vistas of our waterfront suites but does offer enough water vistas to soothe the soul and keep you in touch with the conditions to hit the water when it’s peaking.
Guests of Watermen’s Retreat get kite launching and landing access at REAL Watersports and 10% off at the REAL Watersports Rental Shop.
Additional amenities include Wi-Fi internet access, an in-suite washer and dryer, base level secure gear storage, covered parking, an elevator and fast access to REAL Watersports and Watermen’s Bar and Grille. All Watermen’s Retreat properties include bed linens, made beds upon arrival, bathroom towels, drip style coffee maker, coffee filters, salt & pepper, dishwasher soap tabs, dish soap, sponge and kitchen towels.
Our three-bedroom water view suites are named after two of the heaviest and most famed surfing locations on the Outer Banks: “S-Turns” and “The Lighthouse”.

Waves is home to this condo. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Outer Banks Beaches and Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Rodanthe Pier and Ocean Air Sports are also worth visiting. Looking to get your feet wet? Jet skiing and surfing/body boarding adventures can be found near the property.

When to book & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Waves. Reserve your vacation in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection.
