Dune Horizon is located among lush trees on the ocean side of the road in one of the quieter oceanside towns of the Outer Banks called Salvo. The home features decks off of every bedroom, TWO roomy outdoor showers, your own private saltwater pool (heat available), a fenced dog run for four-legged friends, a hot tub (with privacy shades), a screened porch, a Tesla car charger, a game room and more! Three levels of rooms offer plenty of space to stretch out and for kids to have their own space to play ping-pong or to watch movies, and every room has a intelligent TV. There is also a picnic table and grille inside the pool enclosure for fun summer cookouts. Bed and bath linens are always included at no additional charge, and the beds will be made with fresh sheets and pillowcases prior to your arrival. Appreciate striking sunrises over the sea and sunsets over the sound. Kids can ride bicycles or skateboards up to the surf stores, the skate park or to the Village Conery for ice cream, and adults can grab a cup 'o' joe from one of the neighborhood coffee stores or a craft beer from the local market. The magnificant Tri-Villages towns of the Outer Banks, which were featured in the films "Nights in Rodanthe" and "Send It!," are known for attracting watersports athletes from all over the world. Your family can sign up for surf lessons or learn to windsurf/kiteboard, go canoeing/kayaking or rent jet skis from one of the many area vendors. Family Animals allowed - dogs only. No smoking/vaping. Please note that jets in BR5 private bath are not operable. Please refer to the Rental Agreement while reviewing Rules & Policies for pool opening/closing dates and pool heat information, including details regarding the optional pool heat fee.

Tips to get the optimal vacation home experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, try shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hatteras area visitor guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hatteras visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and picking yourrental:
- Select vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Dune Horizon: Oceanside, Saltwater Pool, Rec Room has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is best for your group.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
