The home features decks off of every bedroom, TWO roomy outdoor showers, your own private saltwater pool (heat available), a fenced dog run for four-legged friends, a hot tub (with privacy shades), a screened porch, a Tesla car charger, a game room and more! Three levels of rooms offer plenty of space to stretch out and for kids to have their own space to play ping-pong or to watch movies, and every room has a intelligent TV. There is also a picnic table and grille inside the pool enclosure for fun summer cookouts. Bed and bath linens are always included at no additional charge, and the beds will be made with fresh sheets and pillowcases prior to your arrival. Savor gorgeous sunrises over the sea and sunsets over the sound. Kids can ride bicycles or skateboards up to the surf stores, the skate park or to the Village Conery for ice cream, and adults can grab a cup 'o' joe from one of the neighborhood coffee stores or a craft beer from the local market. The impressive Tri-Villages towns of the Outer Banks, which were featured in the films "Nights in Rodanthe" and "Send It!," are known for attracting watersports athletes from all over the world. Your family can sign up for surf lessons or learn to windsurf/kiteboard, go canoeing/kayaking or rent jet skis from one of the many area vendors. Family Animals allowed - dogs only. No smoking/vaping. Please note that jets in BR5 private bath are not operable. Tips to get the optimal Hatteras vacation rental experience:
Getting the best value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in Salvo. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many property management companies supply Hatteras area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose your vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Dune Horizon: Oceanside, Saltwater Pool, Rec Room has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hatteras rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If not, email the property management company before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
More tips for your visit:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many problems.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
