When to book a Hatteras rental home & When to go:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in Avon. To get the best value, shift your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
