An Oceanside tiny home in placid Frisco. Just a short walk to the beach down serene residential road. Once a glassblowing studio, the home was completely refreshed in March 2020. A new, clean, functional, special, space.
Quite roomy for a "tiny home", the high ceilings and many windows make calming a joy. And the outside brick deck and yard space are great for appreciating Hatteras Island's wild serenity.
About the Area
Frisco is home to this cottage. Scotch Bonnet Marina and Frisco Mini Golf and Go Karts are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those looking for area attractions can visit Frisco Native American Museum and Buxton Seafood. Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation home experience:
Getting the best value:
- Summer time is high season in the Hatteras area. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Hatteras vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Make a plan and choose your Hatteras vacation home:
- Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanside Tiny House in Beautiful Frisco has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or applied to your agreement.
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas during check in. text the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
