Derryneen is the beach hideaway you've been looking for! Perfectly located in the trees, this appealing 4-bedroom oceanside home is only 600 feet from beach access and is located in the heart of Avon, conveniently near the Avon pier, shopping, and dining. Derryneen was named by the owner's parents when they purchased the bungalow in 1975. Her grandmother came to the U.S. from Derryneen, County Galway, Ireland and this bungalow became the family's Derryneen across the Atlantic on Hatteras Island. Family and friends have been making memories at Derryneen for nearly 50 years. We welcome all who come to Derryneen to find the tranquility and beauty that we appreciate here.

Ground Level: Ground Level Conveniences include a fish cleaning table, charcoal grille, an outside shower, and a carport and parking area that accommodates up to 3 cars.

Single Level: Enter the home through the bright open-concept living room —the ideal place to bring the family together after a day in the sun. The living room is furnished with plenty of seating, a flat-screen TV with Roku, books, and board games. Off the living room is the kitchen and dining area. Make cooking a breeze with a cozy kitchen that provides everything you need for the ideal meal, counter seating that accommodates 4, and a dining table that seats 4. Down the hallway are three bedrooms and a full bathroom. Bedroom 1# is furnished with a Twin bed with trundle, Bedroom #2 is furnished with a Full bed, and Bedroom #3 is furnished with a Queen bed. Directly off the living room is a screened porch with a huge picnic table and a porch swing. The screened porch provides access to a laundry room and Bedroom #4, a private Queen suite with a full bathroom.

Extras: 1 TV, WiFi, charcoal grille, outdoor shower, covered deck, sun deck, and deck furnishings. No Smoking/Vaping. No Family Animals. Distance to beach access: 600 feet. Beds: 2 Queens, 1 Full, 1 Twin, 1 Trundle. Key Type: Lock Box. Check-in Location: At the property.

Linens and towels are supplied all year. This home will provide sheets for all beds and the beds will be made except for sleep couches, top bunk beds, and trundle beds in which case the sheets are supplied. This home also provides 1 bath towel and 1 wash cloth per person the home sleeps, 2 hand towels per full bathroom, 1 hand towel per half bathroom, and a bath mat for each shower or tub.

IMPORTANT BOOKING NOTES/ LEASE AGREEMENT/ ADDITIONAL OPTIONAL FEES: Please read the RENTAL AGREEMENT during the booking process. Immediately after booking you will receive an e-mail with instructions to electronically sign your lease agreement to complete your reservation.

We offer travel insurance to all guests as an option to purchase at that time. There may be additional optional costs charged to your reservation that may not be able to be listed on this site (examples: pet fee, pool heat, early check-in, security deposit, special events, etc ).

Located in Avon, this vacation home is near the beach. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Outer Banks Beaches and Cape Hatteras National Seashore.   • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To book the largest rental within budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses.
