Parlor in the fenced in backyard and in the private swimming pool or toss a frisbee on the grassy area. Dry the kids off, just long enough for a fast lunch at the covered outdoor dining area. Keep the bubbly hot tub for the adults and once the kids have gone to bed, slip back outside and take a soak. Access to the home from the pool deck is painless. Use the elevator, exterior deck stairs or the front stairs to get inside. The second level of the home is the entertainment center of the home, with a game room including a pool table and theater room.

Vacation Rental Protection Plan: This required non-returnable $95 plan covers accidental damage within the home with a coverage limit of $3,000. It does not cover theft or willful misconduct. You must notify Surf or Sound Realty of any damage that occurs during your occupancy or this coverage will be void. Coverage is effective at time of check-in and ends at time of check-out.

About the Area

Located in Hatteras, this vacation home is on the beach. Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and British Cemetery are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Frisco Mini Golf and Go Karts and Uncle Eddy's Frozen Custard and 18-Hole Mini Golf. Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum and Frisco Native American Museum are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

• June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
